As artists, we consciously and subconsciously take elements from other artists we admire, mix them with our other sources of inspiration and our own passions and sensibilities. The results are our own and often benefit from the borrowed elements. The borrowing might be obvious and, in fact, part of the concept of the work, or it might be more subtle.

I was inspired by the work of Edward Burtynsky, and decided to use his themes of humanity's interaction with the environment as the foundation of my photography.
